BEST BETS

R3 n10 Mr Mojo Risin’ – 4th up today and peak run coming off 15 days. Lightly raced emerging young horse that is in the right race today. Drops 6kg in weight and all runs this prep have been good. J Kah rode him positively when he walked in at Mooney Valley and figures from there were good. Harder race here but not that much harder and Kah again the key to him map wise. Very hard to beat today.

R4 n2 Saltaire – 4t up off 9 days and sets up very well here. Speed drawn outside her who will cross early and B Shinn will let her roll over behind them and get into a great trailing position out wider with cover. That’s the perfect set up for 1200m high speed races around this course. Should have won two starts back at Valley 1200m-she was 42 days between runs there and just missed. Last start was in wrong part of track and sill nearly beat smart winner at Flemington. This is her race today.

R5 n11 Sghirippa – 3rd up off 14 days and flying in SA races-figures from there have been outstanding. All the best South Aust form stands up in Melbourne and he is drawn to sit behind the hot speed here again out wider with cover. He will come home over the top of these in the straight with 54kg on his back. Very talented horse.

R7 n2 Cour Volante – 3rd up off 28 days and this race has been targeted for her all Spring. B Shinn knows her very well and she is adaptable either on speed or from off pace. Her draw today guarantees her run of race here and rom there she will be too good for these elate. She was so good last start on a hot speed and then very strong late off that. A real sign of quality in a horse. Very keen she wins today off this set up.

R10 n2 She Dances – 4th up off 22 days and finds the perfect race. She will lead and control for L Meech off what won’t be a fast tempo and from there she will accelerate off the bend coming into the straight. They won’t run her down from there. Loves dry tracks and her figures and form are too good here at 1200m.

BEST BETS

R2 n5 Resistible – Leads inside on map and was 1200 to 1500m second up last start leading on a strong speed behind Sweet Mercy beaten 1.4L. She was backed there at $8 to win that race. Has been to 1600m twice last prep and placed both times with figures from her last 1600m run winning this race clearly. D Gibbons(home track) has first ride today and she peaks here 3rd up and looks winner.

R5 n12 l’mintowin – Looks to lead and control on map on what looks an average tempo- that would be a big advantage around this circuit at 1850m. Up 350m in distance second up off 14 days(would have preferred 21 days) but have to trust this stable- they are geniuses. Won BM78 1500m resuming as a gelding when easy in betting $7. Figures from that win were very good for the meeting off a very fast pace. Up in class here and a lot shorter price today but clearly on top and with a repeat of last figures he should be winning again.

R9 n11 Tavi Time – 2nd up off 17 days and drops 4kg weight coming out of BM72 resuming run at Kenso beaten 2.6L by Furious 1400m where he arguably could have won. Was well backed there at $3.40. Gets well back on this map but 2Nd up and straight out to 1600m suits him big time back on his home track. Really like this horse- he has a huge stride and can sprint home hard over ground off fast tempos. There is enough early speed here for him and I expect him to drop on these late and win. He will win better races than BM78 Class when he gets out further in distance.

 Race 10: 1,5,6,13

BEST BETS

R4 n4 Helluva Barty – 2nd up off 21 days and will go well back on this map which is his normal pattern. Has to go right back on map but that’s his pattern anyway- this track and long straight is a plus for him. Resumed last start sat 7th with 59kg smashed in betting $2.70 and crushed a weak field late in good figures at 1110m. He is a real talent this horse and will appreciate the big long straight here and 1200m, more upside than these!

R7 n3 National Choice – 3rd up off 21 days and a peak run coming from him today off this map v this class of horse. Very good last start when second up and 2nd to Preach at 1350m – his L600 there was outstanding off a very slow lead speed by Preach. He is just a rock solid consistent horse with a bank of figures that wins this race with ease and maps perfectly for M Rodd who is having his first ride on him. 1400m this track (He has won here his only start) is also perfect for him. Looks the Best Bet off the day!

R8 n4 Knights Choice – Might race closer today on this map- he has an outstanding record this track and distance and returns to this weaker class off some really strong deep races in NSW. He has closed off hard late in all 3 runs down there this prep off some very slow tempos. Genuine talent and so well suited v this class today.

BEST BETS

R3 n4 Roman Dagger – is a promising horse who resumed with a fast finishing win at this track over 1300m, the step up in trip suits and can run over the top of these late.

R4 n4 Nothing Silly – had good form down south for a race like this before a disappointing run 1st up at Sunshine Coast. He has trialled well since and gets pace on to suit, value chance.
