BEST BETS

R3 n12 SACRED FEELING 3rd up off 24 days drops 2kg out to 1820m (+160m) which suits her. Last start went back on slow tempo BM65 here at 1660m and was very strong late for 2nd but well beaten 4L at $1.30. Was never really a chance of winning that race tempo wise and much better suited out to this distance on the bigger track. Placed both runs on soft tracks and bred to handle heavy conditions. Looks clear top pick and maps well midfield outside which is a perfect spot for her this tempo/track.

R6 n3 FLAG HALL 2nd up off 28 days (129-day spell) and ran 2nd Gold Coast 1050m trial March 28. Resumed Ipswich in weak Class 2 led and won easily 3.7L at $1.40, had trialed very well leading into that. Carried 57.5kg in that inferior race and 58kg here out to 1200m (+100m) which suits. Soft track form is very good but no runs yet on heavy tracks. Draws nicely to be on speed and control again today.

R9 n4 BROOKHAVEN Gets well back on map but fast tempo here suits and if track pattern is allowing run on horses to get their chance, this map will suit nicely today. 3rd up off 14 days out to 1600m (+200m) which suits off last start win in Class 3 with same weight as here. Sat 6th too strong late there won by 1.9L at $6. (Wet form inconclusive 4 runs on Soft Heavy 0-0-2) Had very good form at 1600m as a 3YO last prep and well suited today out to this distance despite wide draw. Best horse clearly in this race.

R10 n9 OUTLAWED Maps very well inside right behind lead group 3rd up off 14 days, drops 2kg stays at 1200m off last start 5th to Bubbas Bay beaten 1.6L at $3.75. Sat 7th there when 2nd up from an inside barrier in an on-speed race so finishing effort was good. Fitter now 3rd up and very well suited today on this map. Keen she wins.

BEST BETS

R5 n1 BANDI’S BOY Maps very well 4th inside on leaders back 5th up on 7-day back up rises 6kg out to 1400m (+200m) off huge last start win Group 3 at Rosehill. Sat back 7th there and very strong late at $15 against good quality opposition. Way back in class, in the zone and better than these. Loves all wet tracks so will get conditions to suit. Draws inside so presuming that’s no disadvantage forward behind leaders and looks clear top pick this race.

R7 n8 IMPERATRIZ Maps very well 4th in the 1 out 1 back position 4th up off 14 days off last start win Flemington 1200m when won by 0.2L at $1.70. Her L600m that race was elite. Champion mare with outstanding 1200m record and on soft and heavy tracks. Her form might be better the Melbourne way of going, but she is a much better mare now than when she was last in Sydney and is a clear top pick here.

Caufield Meeting Selections

 Race 2: 1,6,7,2  Race 5: 7,11,8,2 Race 8: 2,9,5,3
 Race 3: 10,3,7,1  Race 6: 3,2,11,12 Race 9: 3* from 11,9,6
Race 10: 11* from 13,1,15

BEST BETS

R4 n5 MOESHA Maps back MF inside 4th up off 14 days and Blinkers on last start worked- she was very strong late out to 1200m after being very wide on turn and checked at 250m beaten 1.2L by Gumdrops. Suited again late today off that. Has always had the talent and 4th up today she gets her chance to be beating these.

R9 n3 FIRST IMMORTAL 2nd up off 21 days (was 143-day spell) rises 2.5kg out to 2000m (+400m) off resuming win when led on a Very Slow tempo and held them off late – it was like a barrier trial for him. High class young stayer who maps very well behind the speed here and will be way too good for these late today. Looks a safe bet.

R10 n11 REGAL AZMON Tough map for him well back and wide but tempo up front will suit him late, will need run on track pattern to be in play late in the day for him, but he is ready to win at 1600m today with any luck. 3rd up off 14 days and got well back in the Frigid race behind Sir Davy last start, was slow away and held up at 500m but still had race best close beaten 0.4L. Has had genuine excuses both starts this prep and D Stackhouse replacing B Higgins today is a huge change. Stackhouse knows this horse very well from last prep and he will charge late at these off this tempo today.

BEST BETS

R5 n3 BUSTLING – had to work hard 3 wide the trip last start with no cover but fought on well for a brave 2nd this track and trip. Maps to lead or sit outside leader today and will take plenty of running down.

Toowoomba Meeting Selections

 Race 1: 8,10,9,2 Race 4: 7,6,4,3 Race 7: 5,2,7,4
 Race 2: 8,11,4,12 Race 5: 6* from 9,8,4
Race 3: 9* from 1,11,6 Race 6: 9* from 1,8,6

BEST BETS

R3 n9 MACHINE HEAD – was an easy winner at this track 3 runs back when resuming and hasn’t been far away his past two without luck in stronger races, maps just behind the speed and will be very hard to hold out late.

R5 n6 STELLER EAGLE – showed good speed to sit outside the leader and fought on okay for 2nd behind a handy one over this track and trip last start, will lead today and take plenty of catching.

R6 n9 TOUCH OF GRACIE – ran a nice 3rd behind the promising Majestic Boom at Eagle Farm last start and looks beautifully weighted in this race, won at this track 4 runs back and looks the winner.
