Sat 3rd there in decent class BM70 when over raced on a VSlow tempo on inside which was wrong part of track and pulled up post-race with lameness issues. He won start prior at Geelong on Heavy 9 track in meeting best figures. Lightly raced well-bred 4YO in top stable with upside and maps very well behind this tempo for Zahra.

R8 n1 WROTE TO ARATAKI – Resumes off 77 days for M Williams. Can’t find a public jump out or trial but all freshform is VG. Has elite closing speed and has panels on this field class wise under these conditions if fit and ready to go. Will be positive early on map and roll forward and is just better than these horses.
R9 n9 MIDTOWN BOSS – 2nd up off 33 days and VG trial since. Drops 4kg stays at 1100m off last start resuming win Flemington BM70 in high rating race off a fast tempo. Never ever looked like losing resuming as a gelding thrashingMornington Glory (won twice since). First run at Caulfield and maps MF from the soft draw and ideally placed there off this tempo. Very good emerging 4YO horse and keen he wins again today.

R8 n2 POWERFUL PEG – 3rd up off 14 days rises 4.5kg back to 1350m (-50m) off last start 4th to Robusto BM88 when had to do all the chasing off a VFast tempo and had to tire late beaten 2.8L at $2.90 when heavily backed. Won 3rd and 4th up last prep in BM72/BM78 grade carrying 59kg and maps forward 3rd on this lot softer tempo. Clear top pick today.
R9 n6 OUR KOBISON – 3rd up off 14 days drops 2kg out to 1200m (+100m) off last start win here when had EPC in run behind a Very Slow lead speed before drawing away late to win soft on the line. He closed off with meeting fastest last 400m and 2nd fastest L600. Maps well 3rd fence on leaders back and suited out to 1200m now. Good horse and wins today.

R9 n2 WITHOUT REVENGE – 10th up off 9 days and drops 1kg staying at 1600m off last start win Ballina when led on VFast tempo and beat a good horse in Eaglemont easily. All form for Geran stable has been excellent. He runs along hard in front and stays on bravely late –they are always good horses to back. Leads and controls again on map.
R10 n1 DAYTONA BAY – 2nd up off 14 days and rises 2kg out to 1400m (+200m) off last start resuming 2nd to On The Lead when ran home late off a VSlow tempo beaten 0.7L at $8.50. There was genuine quality in his closing figures from that race. Can race forward at 1400m+ races and Orman will be positive early on him here- his best form in Melbourne wins this race clearly.
