R4 n12 SAVAGERY VIBE Forward behind lead group. 3rd up off 14 days and looks suited out to 1200m (+200m). Last start BM70 Eagle Farm sat back 9L off leader on an even tempo where you just had to be much closer to the lead. Charged home late for 3rd beaten 2.4L by Larado who had a perfect run/ride up on speed. Her closing figures there were excellent with meeting best L400m. Gear changes today and is proven on soft and has the right map/jockey to be winning.

R5 n3 DRAGONNE ROUGE Back off midfield on map. 3rd up off 28 days back to 1200m (-200m). Both runs back this prep have been plain at longer odds but neither of them were the right races for her. This suits a lot better back to 3YO class 1200m and on a wet track. Her form last prep as a 2YO in decent quality races sets her up very well and she should be strong late out wider off this map/tempo. Keen she wins.

R6 n2 SAINT GEORGE Forward early on speed. 6th up off 28 days – had tick over 1200m trial Cranbourne Feb 2 and drops 1kg out to 2500m (+500m). Last start BM100 Flemington sat 4th early in 1/1 3L off leader on an even tempo. Had the right run there and only won by 0.3L surviving a protest. That was his third run at 2000m and he is really looking for the 2500m today. Dry tracker gelded this prep and keen he wins again this map/tempo.

R7 n5 SABAJ Midfield and inside on map. Resumes off 63-day spell and ran 3rd recent 1000m jump out Cranbourne Feb 2. He was super impressive late in that trial – they don’t trial much better than that. Emerging 4YO very well placed back to Listed class today. Has high quality closing speed but will need that today off a slower tempo but small field in his favour. Keen he is the best horse here.

R8 n4 TENTYRIS Forward early behind lead group. Resumes off 105-day spell and two recent jump outs. Ran 3rd most recent 900m Mornington. Super talent and has had a great prep for his return today with an exhibition gallop last Saturday at Caulfield. I haven’t seen too many horses with his closing speed off solid tempos – he is in rare air there. Keen he explodes late and wins.

R10 n3 WROTE TO ARATAKI Forward inside on map to lead. 2nd up off 14 days out to 1400m (+200m). Last start resumed off 140 days Group 3 Mares Caulfield led inside on a slow tempo so did have her chance there in the run, but she was still strong late winning by 1L with no real excuses behind. Her L600m figure was excellent off that tempo. Proven 2nd up and keen she wins again today on speed this tempo.

R4 n4 SOVEREIGN HILL Leads/controls on map. 3° up off 14 days rises 3kg and suited out to 1400m (+50m). Last start BM78 Rosehill drew wider crossed quickly to lead on an even tempo and was too good winning by 1.8L. He was used up there early and sustained the speed throughout. Fitter and better today 3rd up with map control again. Keen he wins.

R5 n10 CROSS TASMAN Positive early from wider draw. 5th up off 14 days rises 1kg and better suited out to 1600m (+100m). Last start BM88 Rosehill sat 3L off leader on an even tempo. Never really looked comfortable there despite his good race position when beaten narrowly with slow recovery post-race. Back to Randwick and out to 1600m is ideal. He is better than these horses and keen he bounces back quickly today and wins.

Pinjarra Meeting Selections

R7 n9 MARIA LUCIA 2nd race start off 14 days rises 3kg and looks suited out to 1200m (+100m). On debut at Ascot drew outside crossed and sat 2nd on an even tempo and was too tough late when challenged winning easily by 2L. Race rated strongly for that class and she was used up early but still very strong late in straight. Looks a classy 2YO and should be winning again today with senior rider back aboard.

R8 n3 TWISTED STEEL 3rd up off 14 days drops 1kg out to 1200m. Last start 3YO Ascot went forward sat 2nd on an even tempo outside leader. Took over in straight winning easily by 1.4L. He worked early there but still closed off strongly late and could have won by a lot bigger margin. Forward on speed and looks too good for these again.

Resumed off 168-day spell for new stable (ex P Moody) F&M BM68 Doomben with a lot of gear changes. Sat 3° on leaders back 2L off an even tempo before winning with a good L200 figure off that tempo. Fitter today 2nd up off a good map and with the claim she should be winning again.

Last start BM78 Sunshine Coast was off 42 days sat 4* 3L off leader and was wide there on a slow tempo. He was still too strong late winning by 0.2L with a strong L600m figure after having no favours in the run. Lightly raced 4YO with good overall record who maps a lot better today back to BM70 class.

R7 n1 FABULANTES Forward early behind the lead group. 6th up off 14 days out to 1350m (+150m). Last start 3YO Sunshine Coast was off 35 days drew outside sat back 11L off on a fast tempo. He ran home late from there when 2nd beaten 0.5L. He had a quality L800m figure from that race. He will race much closer off this map and out to 1350m now looks ideal.

R8 n1 TALTARNI FIELDS Forward inside behind the speed. 3rd up off 21 days drops 1.5kg and stays at 1200m. Last start when 2nd Class 6 Gold Coast drew outside in big field with 60kg crossed to sit 2^° on an even tempo and hung on bravely late for 3° beaten 4L by Hawker Hall. That race was lengths stronger than here and very well suited with claim off a good map. Loves Doomben and clear top pick.

He should have beaten Mr Brightside resuming last Autumn in Group 1 Futurity here at 1400m and right back in class today off that. Has huge closing speed, a very good fresh record and should run over these late out wide and win.

Race rated highly and her L600m figure off that tempo was excellent – that form line clearly strongest in this field. Claim/map suits today on speed and will take some running down late.

It was race over from there winning very impressively late by 4.6L with a quality L400m figure off that tempo. R Maloney on again with a great map and keen he wins.

Took over in straight winning by 0.9L with a strong L400m figure and was just better than that class. Is well suited out to 1600m off a great map with the claim.

He just kept running from there winning by 5L in track record time. Last two runs with blinkers and tongue tie back on have been excellent. Leads/controls on map with claim and clearly the horse they have to run down late.

Last start BM74 Flemington drew inside led on an even tempo and got away on them in front inside but wider runners swamped him late beaten 0.8L. He still closed off strongly L200m and his effort there was excellent. Gelded this prep and while 1200m would have been better for him today he will close off strongly off this tempo/map.

R10 n16 STEALTH OF NIGHT Maps forward early behind the leader. 4** up off 36 days and won recent 800m jump out Flemington Jan 23. Drops 4.5kg and stays at 1400m off last start BM70 Sandown Lakeside drew outside crossed quicky to sit 2nd OSL and controlled race from there winning by 0.8L. Race rated highly and she never looked like losing. Above average dry track mare with great racing pattern and very well suited.

R1 n6 MERRIGOLD Forward on map behind the leaders. On 7-day back up out to 1700m (+100m). Last start Open Flemington sat back 6L on a very fast tempo and had clear run home late to win impressively by 2L – L200m figure off that tempo was excellent. Race rated hugely and always respecting this trainer so the quick back up is a plus. Dry track mare proven at Caulfield and she will eat up the 1700m late with 53.5kg today, very hard to beat.

Last start blinkers on went forward 4L off leader on a crazy early tempo – they went mad there in front. He was wide around them early in straight but had to weaken late beaten 1.4L. He was a sitting shot there late and his effort was very good. Blinkers off today and back to 1600m off this map is ideal. Keen he can bounce back and win.

Gets Zac Lloyd today and sets up so much better – keen he wins.

Was very impressive winning most recent 1050m Randwick Dec 30 when sat 3’d early in a fast trial – asked for an effort late and destroyed them with big gaps in behind. Runner up that trial won Kenso Wednesday. Good quality 4YO and figures from last prep were high quality. Well placed this class and should be winning.

R4 n14 YES I KNOW Forward inside behind the lead group. 4th up off 17 days and stays at 1800m. Last start Flemington BM70 was slow away sat 5L off on a very fast tempo with cover. That race was run very fast and he closed off strongly L200m when 2nd to Fiorenot beaten 0.8L in a high rating race. Gets weight swing and blinkers on today off a great map. Keen he wins.

Big strong filly gets map favours up front with light weight and will be very hard to run down late.

R8 n1 TERRITORY MAN 4th up off 16 days rises 2.5kg and well suited out to 1800m (+200m). Last start out to 1600m this class Ascot drew outside sat back 8L off on a slow tempo and had no hope off that race shape/tempo. Charged late for 2nd beaten 0.9L with a powerful L800m close. Nice horse who will be too strong from the back late for these.

Doomben BEST BET

R5 n12 RED DEFCON Is a smart mare who is well placed back to this class under set weight conditions. She jumped out very impressively at Toowoomba before resuming and running well in the Listed Nudgee Stakes at Eagle Farm last start. She will sit a bit closer today in the smaller field and the step up to 1350m is ideal, can run over the top of these late to score at nice odds.

Was ridden quietly there but ran home well under no riding-good trial. Best form last prep was when ridden off speed at 1100m and was very strong late in a lot better races than here. T Clark knows her well and map/tempo today ideal for astute stable in target race. Keen she runs over them late and wins.

R10 n5 BOOMTOWM BOSS MF on map outside and suited there late. 4** up off 28 days drops 5.5kg and back to 1300m (-100m). Last start 3/4YO EFarm S5 track sat 4L off leader inside on a very slow tempo. He was in wrong place there as the leaders walked in front when 3rd to Tuned beaten 2.2L. His best form is fresh and off 28 days with C Williams and light weight she should be very strong late.

R1 n6 OUR CHIEF Forward early on speed. 2nd up off 15 days and suited out to 1600m (+200m). Last start resumed off 147-day spell 3YO BM70 Cranbourne drew outside sat back MF 5L off leader on very fast tempo and was wide there no cover. They ran that race hard from start to finish so he had zero favours there when 3rd to Davida (won since) beaten 2L. He was still very good late off that tempo which is a sign of quality. Suited on map and is a decent young horse.

R7 n12 KNOBELASS Forward inside behind the leader. 4t up off 21 days drops 2kg and well suited out to 1600m (+100m). Last start BM78 Caulfield Heath sat 3rd easily 3L off on leader/winners back. Got clear when 2nd narrowly beaten by Roadcone who pinched that race when it sprinted fast early around that rubbish tight Caulfield Heath circuit. Different story today back to Flemington 1600m and keen she wins today.

R8 n5 HEDGED Midfield with cover on map. 6th up off 15 days and stays at 1200m. Last start off 35 days Listed Sand L (WINKERS OFF F/TIME) sat 2L off on a slow tempo and was wide there no cover. He settled so much better there with the gear change. Cruised up to them in straight and gapped them late winning by 2.5L. His L600m figure off that tempo was elite. He has been a frustrating horse for punters, but if he settles again here early he will be winning again.

They ran along very fast there on speed with no resting. He was run over late when 3rd beaten 2.2L by Sly Boots. Was clear best of the on-speed runners in a high rating race. Back to Midway class at home track off a suitable map suits ideally.

He was torched there early and was very brave late. Sets up great leading/controlling around this track-he is a different horse when he can lead like that.

R9 n3 KNOW THYSELF Maps 4*h in 1/1. 2nd up off 21 days drops 1kg out to 1600m (+200m). Last start resumed off 218 days BM100 Randwick drew wider crossed to be 4th in 1/1 on a very slow tempo. Was very well ridden there and was too strong late winning by 0.2L. He had a big 600m figure winning there. Good horse maps ideally and is a winner.

She was then held up twice off that and should have won when 2nd to Madhi Girl beaten 0.2L. Her L800m figure from race were outstanding. Maps a lot better today and ready to win.

Proven at 1300m-gets T Berry first time and a positive ride early should see him winning.

Had a huge 400-200m split there yet still closed off with race fastest L200m-that is very hard to do and it was a great return. Excellent 2nd up form and gets map/control today.

Last start BM88 Rosehill began fast led and controlled on a slow tempo and was too strong late for Crepe Myrtle (very smart) winning by 0.4L. Race rated strongly off the back of a high quality L600m figure. Back to BM78 class and gets map control with this jockey which is a big plus.

Last start Werribee Cup sat 7h early 6L off leader on a very fast tempo and was strong late. Figures from race were good and he is unbeaten this track distance (2/2) winning this race last two years. Gets M Dee back aboard today who knows him well and very well suited.
