BEST BETS

R4 n2 LAUDING Maps forward in great spot behind leaders. 4th up off 14 days and stays at 2040m this track. Last start here Slow 5 with blinkers on drew wide and was wide early on a slow tempo to sit 2nd before winning narrowly. He was only 3rd up there and will be a lot fitter today back not his preferred dry track surface. Loses J Kah but gets a quality apprentice replacement and her 2kg claim is significant. Unbeaten this track and distance (3/3) and keen he can win again.

R5 n3 ARKANSAW KID Great map 3rd inside behind leaders. 2d up off 21 days stays at 1200m. Resumed gelded with winkers off and off a 98-day spell at Caulfield Good 4 and had perfect run/ride but did win easily by 0.8L off a very slow tempo. Overall figures from race were okay but it was only a 600m dash home off that tempo. 2nd up today off that and 21 days suits off this map, he will improve significantly off a faster tempo early and is very well placed at this weight scale.

R6 n3 SILMARILLION Great map 3rd inside behind leaders. 3rd up off 14 days rises 1kg stays at 1200m. Last start Randwick Good 4 went forward to 2nd on an even tempo and was brave late to just be beaten into 2’d by Ameena. Overall figures were only plain but sets up well against these Melbourne fillies who look limited. Great map up front, K McEvoy is in red hot form, and she should lead/control and win this race.

R8 n2 PERICLES Maps midfield outside and suited there late this tempo. 2nd up off 21 days and suited out to 1500m (+100m). Resumed off 133 days Caulfield Good 4 went forward to 3rd on a fast tempo and ran 3rd beaten 0.8L by Gentleman Roy (very good since in Group 1). Overall figures from race were high quality. Finished last prep with a close 2d in extremely high rating Group 1 Doncaster at Randwick beaten 0.7L by Celestial Legend who could be a freak. Has got very good 2nd up form/figures and has a clear class edge over these rivals today.

BEST BETS

R3 n4 ARCADIA PARK 31d race start off 21 days today and should have won here last start when ran home late off a very slow tempo after being held up in the straight. He was powerful late there and sets up ideally today with William Pike getting back onboard, keen he wins.

R5 n 4 DEFERRED 5th up off 14 days and was huge run last start when got back 7th on a crawling speed tempo and charged late for 3rd beaten 0.8L when smashed in betting. Back to 1300m here (-100m) but will overpower these horses late and win today, very good mare.

BEST BETS

R2 n5 MARTINI MUMMA Maps forward in 1×1 position and suited from there. Resumes off 112-day spell and no public trials. Lightly race mare who is hard to assess here -last prep won a Highway (Class 3) like a good horse in great figures for the meeting. She closed off powerfully there, off a very fast tempo. Untapped potential and J Mac (first ride) is a key booking. Keen she wins this race.

R8 n10 ZARDOZI Maps forward 4th in 1×1 position and suited. 2nd up off 14 days and well suited out to 1600m (+200m). Resumed off 133-day spell Randwick G4 drew inside went back to 7th early on tempo, ran 6th beaten 2.3L when unfancied in betting ($26). Lightly raced high class staying mare who gets J Mac back aboard today (he won VRC Oaks on her) and she has exceptional 2nd up form. Looks the likely winner of this very weak Group 2 race off this map.

R9 n8 AMELIAS JEWEL Maps 3 pairs back outside and suited. Resumes off 119 days and two acceptable trials. Excellent fresh form and maps well to run on late here this tempo. Resuming at 1400m is perfect for her and should be too good for these horses today. Looks winner.

BEST BETS

R5 n9 NAVAL TRADER Good map forward from inside draw to be behind the speed. 2* up off 21 days drops 2.5kg out to 1350m(+150m). Resumed here Slow 7 off 154-day spell, drew inside and was ridden forward to sit 3rd on a fast tempo. Hung on well late for 3rd to be beaten 0.7L and the overall figures from the race were good. Dry tracker who is lot better placed today at this distance and all his 2d up form is good. Looks set for a good campaign off his return run.

BEST BETS

R2R2 n1 GREAT BARRIER REEF Was an impressive winner at Sunshine Coast last start defeating his main danger here in Medals. Meets that horse better at the weights, maps nicely behind him in the box seat and can run over the top again late to score.

R6 n1 PALEFACE RINGO Is a speedy horse resuming from a break. He is yet to run a bad race and his two runs at this track have produced a win and an unlucky 2d. Maps to lead from the inside gate and will take a power of beating from there.
