BEST BETS

R4 n3 MIDTOWN BOSS Maps midfield and suited resuming off 94-day spell and jump outs have been outstanding. Soft win first up here last prep in excellent figures beating a better field than today. Just flies down the straight and impossible not to have him on top today off his jump outs and keen he wins.

BEST BETS

R2 n8 THE EXTREME CAT Perfect map 4th inside on leaders back. 4th up off 13 days drops 3kg out to 1400m. Last start Hawkesbury G4 drew soft sat 3rd on an even tempo and won easily 1.8L when heavily backed. Lightly raced 5YO suited this class of race having first run at 1400m. Dryer tracks suit him and gets map favours today and J Mac. Looks clear top pick.

R5 n1 HELLUVADANCER Good map 3rd inside on leaders back. 3d up off 21 days drops 2kg stays at 1400m. Last start Randwick S7 drew inside sat 4th early on a slow tempo held up and closed of hard late for 2d beaten 1.4L. She should have won that race. Peaks here today 3rd up back onto a dryer track with the claim and ideal map. Clear top pick.

R6 n4 UNANIMOUS Maps 3 pairs back inside 5th up off 21 days rises 5kg out to 2000m (+200m). Last start drew inside sat 8th on a very fast tempo and closed off well for 3rd beaten 2.6L by Aramco after being held up in straight in a high rating race. Closing figures were very good there and Aramco is a Group class horse. Suited out to 2000m today and gets J Mac, looks too good for these in a weak class race.

Doomben Meeting Selections

 Race 1: 3,10,11,7 Race 4: 1* from 2,3,16 Race 7: 1,3,2,9
 Race 2: 2* from 6,8,7 Race 5: 14,7,6,3 Race 8: 9* from 17,15,11
Race 3: 5,14,15,12 Race 6: 2* from 1,7,8 Race 9: 24,7,6,15

BEST BETS

R2 n2 CLIMACTIC Great map forward inside resuming off 266-day spell and won both trials Murwillumbah. Debut at Rosehill in strong class race sat 5** on a very fast tempo and ran 4th beaten 2.2L. He was checked there at 1000m and was very inexperienced in the run. Quickly spelled after that and trials have been good. Orman a key booking from ideal draw and well suited.

R4 n1 ATMOSPHERE Forward on map from wider draw to lead on fast tempo. 3d up off 21 days back to 1200m (-150m). Last start Doomben S6 drew outside went forward to lead on a fast tempo and ran 3ª beaten 0.8L when heavily backed. He was 1100-1350m there and the winner of that race has won since. Sets up a lot better today off that effort back to 1200m and very well placed at weights today these conditions.

R6 n2 WITHOUT REVENGE Forward on map 4th up off 14 days stays at 1600m. Last start E Farm drew wide and went forward (wide no cover early) on a very fast tempo (not suited) – they went mad in front in that race and ran 3rd beaten 1.2L in a bunched finished. He was 1400-1600m there and his effort was strong. Peaks here 4th up with a more economical run off this map and looks clear top pick today.

R8 n9 ROCKRIBBED Map looks great MF behind leaders off this tempo. 3d up off 22 days rises 4kg out to 1350m (+50m). Last start was wide throughout Rockhampton from an outside draw on a very fast tempo. Total forgive run there. Much better placed today back to Doomben 1350m off 21 days and an ideal map. Best form/figures can win this race.

Toowoomba Meeting Selections

 Race 1: 4* from 3,5,10  Race 4: 1* from 4,2,6 Race 7: 6,1,2,12
 Race 2: 1,7,5,6  Race 5: 2,4,7,5
 Race 3: 2,5,3,11  Race 6: 5,1,3,6

BEST BETS

R1 n4 IT’SMEMARIO is a promising horse who is starting to put it all together of late. He races well at this track and gets the perfect set up today to map just behind a solid speed, gets a handy claim for promising apprentice and can run over the top of these late to score.

R4 n1 PICKO ROCKS was an impressive winner at Warwick three back then ran well after a wide run for 4th in the Gatton Cup behind Top Boy. Looks better than these and should be too strong late.
