BEST BETS

R4 n9 ROCKRIBBED Forward on map to be OSL resuming off 63 days and looked good winning Deagon 1050m trial June 11. Second prep now for Gollan stable and both runs last prep for him were good. Start prior to spelling Eagle Farm S5 went forward early (over raced) with 51kg on an even tempo and was run down late by Millane (56kg) beaten 1.1L. He closed off well there for the meeting off that tempo. That form line is strong for here. Lightly raced 6YO who has obviously had some issues throughout his career but has got strong 1st up stats and is well placed here today.

R5 n10 OUGHTON Great map 4th in 1/1 4th up off 21 days drops 3.5kg (BM78 to Class 6) back to 1350m (-50m). Last start Eagle Farm BM78 S6 drew soft sat 3rd on Slow tempo and was in wrong part of track inside late when 3ra beaten 0.5L by Geriatrix. Lot better suited today on dryer track 4th up and he looks clear top pick here off this map/set up.

R8 n7 WATEGOS Maps ideally forward inside on leaders back 5th up off 14 days stays in Listed Class back to 1350m (-150m) and prefer him back to this distance range, unbeaten both runs at 1350m. Last start 2nd to Yellow Brick Eagle Farm Good 4 beaten 0.7L in a very fast run race. Drew inside there went back 5th inside and the winner looped around them out wider from the home turn and got a winning break. He finished off well when clear and is a good consistent horse proven at this level. Finds the right race today to bounce back a winner.

BEST BETS

R3 n1 FINAL SIREN – fast horse who looks capable of winning better races than this later in his career. Will carry 60kg and is likely to be sitting outside the leader but will be too good for this class again today.

R6 n 8 DUCHESS OF GOSSIP – 3r up today and set to peak. Last start 2’d up was slow away then keen/held up before a huge close late. It was an on pace race (winner there Rope Them In has won since) and she also had excuses when resuming being caught wide no cover. It’s a good race with other chances but keen she can win.

R9 n6 BERBERE – was slow away when resuming and held up in straight before powering home late for 4th in a great return. Up in trip here is ideal and drops 3kg, races closer on map today and looks the winner.

BEST BETS

R1 n4 SNEAKY SUNRISE Gets well back on map but will be suited late at 4th race start in first prep. Off 35 days but had excellent 800m jump out here June 14 when cruised home late under no riding. Rises 1.5kg and stays at 1400m off last start here S7 when drew soft and went back on an even tempo but closed off hard winning by 1.5L when well backed. L400m figures there were dominant for race. Proven at 1400m and she looks a good quality filly.

R2 n4 ABERFELDIE BOY Maps well forward inside on leaders back 2nd up off 14 days rises 3kg (BM100 to Open) out to 2540m (+540m). Resumed off short 63-day break drew outside went back to 10th ran home for 5th beaten 1.9L when held up at 200m. It was a high rating fast race. He was placed in Vic Derby this track and distance as a 3YO so out in distance today should suit off what looks like a great map. Very hard to beat today.

R5 n3 EXTREMELY LUCKY Maps back inside 4th up off 21 days rises 1kg stays at 1100m. Last start Caulfield G4 1100m drew outside went back last but ran home hard for 3rd in swoopers race beaten 1.2L. Dry tracker now back with original stable and has got good record at 1100m. First run down the straight but has always been a horse I thought would excel at straight racing and B Shinn a huge plus.

R9 n2 THE BLACK CLOUD Suited this map leading wider 3rd up off 14 days rises 3.5kg (BM78 to 3YO) out to 1100m (+100m). Last start 2nd up Randwick BM78 H9 drew outside barrier rolled forward to 3rd ran 21d beaten 1.4L by Fleetwood (smart) when well backed at $2.20. Resumed at Randwick BM78 Slow 5 1000m, went back 8th and was too strong late winning by 1.2L. Unbeaten at 1100m (2 from 2) and better suited back onto dryer surface today 3rd up. Will appreciate the straight track here today.

Randwick Abandoned Due To Wet Weather & State Of The Track

R4 n1 TOP BOY – ran home strongly for 2nd over this course and distance last start in a stronger race. Gets in well after the claim for promising apprentice and looks much too good for these.
