R7 n10 WARBY – Gets well back off soft inside draw resuming off 119-day spell and ran 2d 1000m (60.13sec) trial Doomben April 11th beaten 0.5L plus a very good jump out since. Resumed last prep 1200m this track got back to last on a very slow tempo and exploded late for 4th beaten 1.7L. His last 400m there was brilliant. He then won his next two runs again from well back on slow tempos before excuses his last two runs before the spell. He has been a different horse since transferring to Gollan stable (ex C Maher) and is very well placed in BM78 class fresh today. Has a booming finish and have heard he is low level flying on the tracks.

BEST BETS

R3 n9 GENTILESCHI – Maps MF outside 3P back and well suited running on late from there 3rd up off 18 days drops 2.5kg out to 1500m (+100m). Last start sat 5th Scone 1400m BM58 won by 2.7L at $1.40. Resumed start prior off 160 days won maiden Soft 7 sat 7th powered home late won by 2.3L at heavily backed $1.70. Nice well bred filly first time at 1500m but should be looking for it off last two wins and bred to get further. Proven up to Soft 7 and had a lap on her opposition last two runs and form behind has since been very strong. Clear top pick.

R5 n4 PARISAL – Maps very well 4th in 1/1 resuming off 126 days and two good trials. Led and won most recent at Canterbury 905m Soft 7 by 1.5L. Has got VG first up stats and soft track form is all good. Has won at Group 3 level and did run 2nd to Magic Time in a Group 2 Randwick on Heavy 9 beaten 1.3L by Magic Time. Form doesn’t get a lot better than that for a race like this and all her figures and form stacks right up and maps well to launch late off his tempo.

R6 n5 SHADOWS OF LOVE – Maps very well 4th in 1/1 4th up off 21 days drops 1kg back to 1300m (-100m) which suits better. Last start drew wide went forward on a very fast tempo Randwick Soft 5 and brave late for 3rd to Territory Express which is a super form reference for today. That horse has group class potential. Still only lightly raced 4YO mare with very good overall record- loves wet tracks and sets up perfectly for today.

R7 n1 SCHWARTZ – Maps very well 4* inside on leaders back 3rd up off 21 days out to 1400m (+200m) which suits ideally. Both runs this prep in stronger races have been good. Last start 20d up drew inside 1200m Randwick went back on only an even tempo and tried to finish up inside rail (wrong part of track) and only clear late in straight when race was all over beaten 2.1L. It was a good 2d up run and wouldn’t have knocked him around at all. Has never raced on a soft track but has only had 5 starts so there is some unknown there but is now ready now for 1400m maps great today and was well supported in all early markets. Has always been an emerging young group class colt.

BEST BETS

R7 n3 HERE TO SHOCK – Maps very well forward inside off this tempo 3d up off 28 days and since ran 3rd trial Bendigo 800m (47.56 sec) beaten 1.2L. Rise, 5.5kg back to 1400m (-200m) off last start win here Group 3 class when drew wide went back off a slow tempo but crushed them late with a race dominant close won by 0.5L (Seonee ran 2d and won very well since). Not a fan of horses up in weight and back in distance but his last win was very good and overall career figures this track and distance makes him clear top pick today.

R8 n2 AZTEC STATE – Maps MF and should be suited this tempo if he gets a back to follow early 3rd up off 17 days drops 2kg out to 2000m (+400m). Last start drew inside Caulfield Heath BM64 went back and ran home late just missed winner on the line. That winner Chihuly was excellent last week v Berkley Square. Out to 2000m has to suit him and is still a lightly raced young stayer in a red hot stable with blinkers on today. Clear top pick.

R10 n2 CHORLTON LANE – Maps back worse than MF but away from inside and only needs a back to follow to launch late again off this tempo out wider in straight late. 2nd up off 21 days rises 1.5kg stays at 1400m and in BM84 class. Resumed off 158-day spell at Bendigo went back and wide to 10th off a slow tempo but super strong late to win easily on line with race dominant close (Extra Two was 2nd has won since). Really like him at 1400m on dry tracks and is very well placed this class again today. Convinced he can win up to Group 3 class at a minimum.

BEST BET: R5 n3 TWAIN’S ANGEL – unbeaten filly who resumed last start and sat outside leader on a slow tempo before winning easily in fast sectionals late. Figures from all three runs are good, maps on speed and looks the winner again.

R9 n5 GENEROSITY – got too far back from a wide draw when resuming last start but charges home late for 3d. Has some real quality about her and out to 1200m off a better map today should see her winning.

BEST BETS

R2 n6 SHEPPEY – resumed with a tidy effort when 2* behind the inform Spooky Spirit Will be fitter for the run and maps well from the soft draw, great each way chance.

R5 n3 ADDIEL – first starter who didn’t show a lot in her trials last year but has come back much better judging by her recent jump outs including the latest one she won in good time. Drawn ideally and will be hard to beat.

R7 n10 SALACIA – went back from the wide draw before rattling home for 3rd at this track last week. Will give them a bit of a start but will be rattling home late and can rur over the top of them to score.
